The following list is a brief schedule of events that will take place during the Victorian festival.
The list includes the date, time and location where each event will take place. You may also stop
by any downtown Romeo shop for an Events Listing and a Map to each location.

Events for The Day:
Free Trolley rides 10-6pm, except during the Parade

and participating restaurants.

Civil War Encampment
All Day: Romeo Village Park
Step back in time and discover camp life during one of the most difficult times in our country's history. Civil War Re-enactors actually recreate a soldier's camp life in the Romeo Village Park and live there during the duration of the festival. The Civil War Encampment is one of the highlights of the Romeo Victorian Festival, and visitors are given the opportunity to see demonstrations of daily chores, military drills and other historical aspects of the era.

Victorian Tea & Bake Sale
10am-4pm: Gabriel's Garden/ French Marketplace
The legacy of Victorian history comes alive again! Tea is served on fine china and Authentic Lemon Curd and Raspberry Preserves make the perfect accompaniment to your delicious scones... Tea and Fresh Baked Goods will be available a la carte; and elegant outdoor seating will be available (weather permitting) Bring a friend and enjoy a spot of tea served by your English Tea Hostesses, the Ladies of BTT.
100% of proceeds to benefit local church, Bible Truth Tabernacle.
Look for the Tea Ladies on the Southeast block of 32 Mile & Main Street



Newsboy & Free Historic Paper
10am-?  "Hear, ye... Hear , ye!"
Every year The Romeo Observer prints a wonderful newspaper with historic news dated 100 years ago. This newspaper is an authentic replica, complete with historical ads from the Victorian Era!  Not only is this paper a charming keepsake, it also highlights the activities and events going on in Romeo the entire day of the festival. Be sure to visit early on Saturday before our Newsboy runs out of papers!








Victorian Wedding Reenactment: 11:00am & 2:30pm
That Romeo Victorian Wedding...oh my!
The Romeo First Congregational Church invites you to a traditional Victorian Wedding Ceremony and  reception on Saturday May 17.  Watch and laugh as history comes alive with Romeo High School Drama Club with their coach present at 11 am and again at 2:30 pm.  Tea and cake will be served immediately following the ceremony.  Children are welcome and can  join the Teddy Bear Picnic on church grounds timed just after the 11:00am wedding reception.  Register for the Teddy Bear picnic by calling Kezar Library at 586-752-2583.  Picnic is free.
Authentic Victorian Wedding collection will also be on display. Tours of our historic church will be offered as well as a vintage sepia photograph opportunity for you dressed for the Victorian Wedding as a guest.
Free parking in the church lot with a ticket at 102 Church St. downtown Romeo.
A first this year and very much anticipated! The First Congregational Church is on Church Street in downtown Romeo. Pre-sale tickets are $ 12 and available by calling (586) 336-4854.  Tickets at the door are $15. Children $5.00.

Victorian Fashion Show & Luncheon
11:30am: Brabb House Bed & Breakfast
The Romeo Monday Club presents Fashions in Time and Luncheon at historic Brabb House, 185 S. Main Street at 11:30am.  $45 each.  You are more than welcome in costume!

Vintage Base Ball Game
3:00pm: Lions Field
The Romeo Lions Club welcomes the Vintage Base Ball teams of the Mt. Clemens Regulars and Northville Eclipse to play base ball ‘as it was meant to be played’ at 3 pm at Romeo Lions Field.  Come watch base ball played by 1860s rules.  American base ball hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and refreshments will be available from Pamela’s Catering on the grounds.   The antique car show will be on display at the Lions Field as well. The Vintage Base Ball Game is Sponsored by: Uptown Buscemi’s,  Culligan of Romeo, & the Peach Festival Committee.

Moustache Contest
10am-3pm: Romeo Barber Shop
Take your moustache to Romeo Barber Shop,  108 w. St. Clair St.  for a photograph to enter.
Larry the Barber will take your vote on the best Victorian moustache until 3pm.

May Pole
11:00am & 11:30pm: Connelly's Creations
Learn the May Pole dance patterns and celebrate spring as you watch children in traditional Victorian dress perform!  The May Pole Dance will be held at at Connelly’s Creations,  175 S. Main St..  .

Vintage Children's Games
10:00am-11:00am: Romeo Village Park
Vintage children’s games will be conducted by the Civil War Re-enactors in Village  Park from 10am to 11am.  Aimed at children ages 10 and under, anyone can participate!


Plant Exchange
9 am to 11am: Romeo Village Park
Romeo Washington Bruce Township Parks Department holds its annual Perennial Plant Exchange at Village Park from 9 am to 11am. Plant now!

Blacksmith Demonstrations
10am-3pm: Clyde Craig Blacksmith Museum
Visit the museum and to see the Blacksmith work!. The Clyde Craig Blacksmith Museum is located on N. Bailey St. from  Stop by to watch!

3rd Annual Victorian Festival Parade
1:00pm: Main Street; Downtown Romeo
The Romeo Victorian Festival Parade starts on Main Street at 1pm. The parade begins at Hollister Street and goes south on Main all the way to Washington St.  Entries include: Horse and carriages, Antique Vehicles, The QUEEN,  Little Miss Victoria,  Michigan Peach Queen 2008,  Model T's, Antique Trolley, Mt. Clemens Regulars base ball team, Northville Eclipse base ball team,  The Lavender Lady & Sir Michael, Big Wheels, Costumed Characters and more! join in the fun as everyone shows off Romeo’s Victorian Era in the heart of downtown all the way to the Romeo Lions Field.  Be there to see it all!

Victorian Photos
10am-12NOON: Bancroft-Stranahan Museum
Bancroft Stranahan Museum will be open with Victorian displays from 10am to 3pm and a chance to have your portrait photograph taken in costume from 10am to noon.  The photographs taken will be available for purchase after the festival through Donna Agusti Photography's website. www.donnaagusti.com
